Everything started  some years ago with a couple of gingerbread cookies for Christmas, which my husband brought to work. News year I was asked to bake them again to give away in his office… and there was no turning back. 🙂
Last year I tried out different ways to decorate my Christmas favorite. Gingerbread! Â This is hand painted red and decorated with royal icing.
I am driven by people who ask me to make something for them, and they trust me, that it will be great. That what happened with these cookies. Valentine Day. I have never decorated cookies for this occasion before, and than I saw an inspirational picture of black and red hearts and I fell in love with the colors. Next day I was asked to make 4 dozens of valentines gift. I love them!
My brother live in Hungary and he was getting married last year. He saw my cookies only on pictures so I decided to give them a huge plate of all kind of white sweet sugarcookies. I baked them a couple of days before the wedding in my mom oven. It was so much different that mine. Mine is electric and she has a gas one. I had no idea what temperature to set the oven in, and how long it should be in there.
I bake the cookies on 350F for about 13 min here at home.
I was prepared. Because they live in a small town, I brought my cookie cutters and some nice food coloring with me.
