I used different sugar cookie recipes for a long time, so I started searching for some new, dark chocolate cookie recipe. Not really because I like chocolate that much, but light colored icing looks so great on dark dough.
I know it is not the best purpose, but I am more a visual person than an cookie eater 🙂
There is the chocolate cookie recipe from LilaLoa blog.
1 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
2/3 cup cocoa
3 or 3 1/2 cups flour
I don’t use shortening at all, but use a little bit more butter. It is still a very stiff dough for me, and I found that rolling it under a sheet of foil makes it the perfect smooth surface, without adding extra flour.
